About Krystal Van Der Brink

Senior Project Manager

Krystal Van Der Brink is a transformation leader in health and human services, known for guiding complex system change with equal parts strategy and heart. At Global True North, she brings a grounded, human-centered approach to projects at the intersection of technology, organizational change, and community well-being. Krystal helps clients reimagine what's possible, not just by reengineering workflows but by rehumanizing them.

Inspired by the significant impact her parents and grandmother had as public servants, Krystal pursued a degree in Human Services. She began her career in juvenile justice and Medicaid operations, where she gained firsthand insight into how policies affect people's lives. During this time, Krystal and her husband made a life-changing decision to adopt two children from the foster care system. Her professional and personal experience reinforced the belief that public systems must be efficient, empathetic, and accessible to the families who rely on them.

Her motto, "See the Good," is not just a tattoo on her arm; it serves as the guiding principle through which she leads teams, solves problems, and builds trust. As Krystal advanced her career into IT leadership in the state of Iowa, she developed a reputation for navigating complex situations with calmness and clarity. She approaches major transitions with flexibility, a solution-oriented mindset, and a strong focus on building relationships.

When Krystal isn't transforming systems, you can find her with her husband, cheering on her three children in multiple sports, traveling to exciting destinations with her friends, and navigating her love-hate relationship with CrossFit.
