About Dr. Chan Hellman

For the last 20 years Dr. Hellman has focused his research on human service nonprofit organizations. 12 years ago, he began to focus this work on the psychological strength of hope. Turns out hope is not a wish or feeling but a goal setting framework based upon our ability to find pathways and generate the willpower to make the future possible. Today, we have created training platforms for nonprofits, school districts, human service agencies, etc. under the trade mark Hope Centered and Trauma Informed. The science of hope demonstrate that hope (1) can be learned, (2) serves as a protective factor, and (3) predicts positive outcomes for both children and adults.
